Welcome!

First and foremost, we are very excited to have all the students from China arriving soon.  We hope to make your time in the United States as educational and enjoyable as possible, and our goal always is to build bridges between our two cultures through education, communication both written and spoken, friendship, and travel.

As a quick introduction, I'm Mike Lohre, and I first taught in the Wuhan University Summer Intensive English Program in 2006.  I loved it and returned in 2007.  Wuhan and its people and students are very dear to me.  Since 2008, I've worked in the summer program here, and I've managed the Wuhan To Ohio Summer Program (WTOSP) since 2009.  I'm lucky to work with great people like Pete Dully, Alyssa Francis, Ming Fang, and Hans Li, who you will meet as the blog and program get rolling.

This blog is a part of that effort, and allows us to write, post pictures, create links to research and ideas, and even share videos or video reflections and interviews.

We'll learn how to use this blog once everyone arrives and there will be entries on the blog to help you.  For now, look for informational posts and introductions here.

Here is a picture of me on the left and you'll also recognize Bob Eckhart at right.  You met Bob before you left in China and he of course manages the WUSIEP in Wuhan.  This picture is from a cookout we had last month at Pete's house, and you'll meet Pete soon!
